Servage launches new affiliate program. The idea is to create a grapevine web hosting sales channel based on the fact that you only recommend what you like and use yourself. Current customers profit when referring their clients who become ServageOne customers. The program is managed from the control panel and includes a number of marketing tools to make it easy for affiliates to earn money with the program. Among the benefits are marketing tools including readymade templates and banners as well as the possibility to create personalized coupon codes. From time to time, affiliates will also get special campaigns to use for their own marketing as well as benefits & deals to share with their customers, such as discount prices, bonuses and gifts as well as unlimited disc space and traffic. Today we have added ?HP 5.3 support to all our clusters to reflect the availability of PHP 5.3 compatible Code. All customers are able to select their preferred PHP version per Virtualhost in the Controlpanel. For now PHP 5.2 stays the default option for new created hosts but everyone is free to select PHP 5.3. Kind Regards Jan |

We have added a widget to the controlpanel that helps us to decide some different things.. In addition this makes it possible for you to decide which things we are going to realize in the near future or not. To reach this we have added a small poll widget to the right in the controlpanel. We are starting with a technical question that helps us making a decision if we are switching from mod_python to mod_wsgi to handle python scripts or not. Today we want to announce that our FTP- and Mailservers are IPv6 enabled. They have been for some weeks now. We have used the time to see if everything is running as stable as we expected. We have completed all tests and didnt notice any side-effects of the addition of IPv6 to our systems. If you already are IPv6 connected to the internet and are using software, thats supports IPv6 (Operating system and FTP/mail client), your system should automatically use IPv6. Kind Regards Jan |

Lately we have improved our backend considerably with new clustered file systems and the secure high performance ServageOS. Now the time has come to a complete overhaul of the control panel layout we have used the last five years! The new layout is considerably easier to use and includes many web 2.0 components, such as interactive help from the wiki and complete uptime reports. The navigation has been made more dynamic making the control panel faster to use. One of the added benefits with this new CP is that it is designed to make it easier to add new functionality to our service. This will ensure that our service remains state of the art. All enhancements have been made with our customers in mind and we hope that everyone will appreciate the changes. It is however a large change in the control panel so minor issues might occur and we hope that you will report such issues and improvement suggestions to us at bugs@servage.net. The interface is online already so be sure to login to your account and check it out! Criminals are currently sending out scam/phising pretending to be Servage asking customers to transfer funds to a PayPal or Western Union account. Bills from Servage will always be listed in the control panel. You can access the Servage control panel via http://cp.servage.net. The Servage team is working hard to improve existing features and develop new ones for our systems, thus enabling customers to do more and better with our products. During the past months Servage administrators and developers have worked hard on a software-update for our control panel that will be rolled out on our live system. During that process some major upgrades and changes will be performed, which is why the customer control panel will be unavailable for about one hour in the afternoon of Wednesday, June 10th 2009. Please be aware that the upgrade on Wednesday is the first in a series of steps we will be taking to significantly change and further improve our control panel. In this first step there will be no functional or visual changes for you as a customer, but the update "behind the scenes" is the foundation for our future development. You website, domains, files and emails will NOT be affected by this, though you may not be able to login to the control panel and your FTP account during the upgrade. We have just added a whole bunch of dictionaries for the spell check tool aspell. These dictionaries can be used to make spell checks of user input on webpages or webmailers. The dictionaries for the following languages has been added: am, ar, bn, br, cs, cy, da, de, el, en, fa, fr, ga, gu, he, hi, hr, hu, hy, is, it, ku, ml, mr, or, pa, pl, pt, ro, sk, sl, sv, ta, te, tl, uz, pt-br. It is now possible to do server side mail filtering on email accounts. In certain cases it may be useful to filter/sort mails with certain subjects to sub folders. The default web mail client is now Horde which is one of the best web based email clients on the market. Customers have had the possibility to use Horde for some time and we now feel that it is stable and ready for main stream use. At Servage we are continuously working to improve account security both visible and in the background. Today we have created the possibility to lock your control panel so that it only allows logins from customer defined countries and/or IP addresses. When a login attempt is denied due to country/IP restrictions an email is generated and sent to the account owner. The account owner will be able to disable the protection. This feature can be enabled/disable in the control panel under “Your Account” > “IP/Country Login Security”. Kind Regards Steffan Sondermark |
