Criminals are currently sending out scam/phising pretending to be Servage asking customers to transfer funds to a PayPal or Western Union account.

Bills from Servage will always be listed in the control panel. You can access the Servage control panel via http://cp.servage.net. Please only pay bills that are listed in the accounting area of the control panel and contact our support if in doubt.

The Servage team is working hard to improve existing features and develop new ones for our systems, thus enabling customers to do more and better with our products. During the past months Servage administrators and developers have worked hard on a software-update for our control panel that will be rolled out on our live system. During that process some major upgrades and changes will be performed, which is why the customer control panel will be unavailable for about one hour in the afternoon of Wednesday, June 10th 2009.

Please be aware that the upgrade on Wednesday is the first in a series of steps we will be taking to significantly change and further improve our control panel. In this first step there will be no functional or visual changes for you as a customer, but the update "behind the scenes" is the foundation for our future development.

You website, domains, files and emails will NOT be affected by this, though you may not be able to login to the control panel and your FTP account during the upgrade.

We have just added a whole bunch of dictionaries for the spell check tool aspell. These dictionaries can be used to make spell checks of user input on webpages or webmailers.

The dictionaries for the following languages has been added:

am, ar, bn, br, cs, cy, da, de, el, en, fa, fr, ga, gu, he, hi, hr, hu, hy, is, it, ku, ml, mr, or, pa, pl, pt, ro, sk, sl, sv, ta, te, tl, uz, pt-br.

It is now possible to use wildcards on the GeoIP Blocking system. It is done with stars (*) e.g. 77.232.69.*to allow access for everyone from 77.232.69.

It is now possible to do server side mail filtering on email accounts. In certain cases it may be useful to filter/sort mails with certain subjects to sub folders. The function is found under the email tab (next to email accounts).

The default web mail client is now Horde which is one of the best web based email clients on the market. Customers have had the possibility to use Horde for some time and we now feel that it is stable and ready for main stream use.

It is, of course, still possible to use SquirrelMail by selecting it from the drop down box at http://webmail.servage.net/

We have now opened up for the SyncML (a standart XML based RPC protocol) functions in Horde mail. This means that you can now synchronize your Thunderbird email client with webmail, mobile phone and PDA with SyncML support! This includes all bookmarks and contact lists.

It is very important for us that our product is available for all parts of the population. We have been informed that the Captcha gave problems for blind customers.

We have now introduced a feature that is able to read the captcha aloud. The rest of the page is in clear text and well suited for the normal text-to-speech used.

We hope that this resolves the problem for our blind customers.

Rapid growth and cutting edge features have resulted in a brand new server Linux distribution being developed by hosting company Servage. The hosting industry is an increasingly competitive market space with many providers competing for customers. Customers are demanding more value for their money in these turbulent times why Servage has chosen to develop the first Linux Distribution especially tailored for web hosting.

With current installations customers on the same server or cluster can affect each others in a negative way. This is a challenge that traditional Linux distributions have no real solution to due to its hosting specific nature. Servage's German branch has been working intensely to remove this obstacle.

The company was among the pioneers in utilizing cluster technologies on the mass web hosting market. Own clustering management protocols designed especially for hosting are still maintained and successfully utilized.

New Ajax version of our webmail is now available. The new webmail provides better usability and speed.

The look and feel of the new Horde/Dimp is similar to a normal email client such as Outlook allowing for selecting of multiple messages, drag-and-drop and includes calendar functionality.

We recommend customers to try the new webmail which can be found on webmail.servage.net (Select Horde New). Customers still have access to alternative webmail versions such as the Standard Horde and SquirrelMail (default).
